On Monday September 13th some of Kamilah’s friends and family got together to show her that we are all here for her as she fights this fight.

Fight Like a Girl! Kamilah had her hair streaked pink. She said if there was ever a time to do something like this, this was the time. She anticipates that chemo will cause her to lose her hair and facing that thought with grace and courage. She is one of the strongest women I know. Here are few from her “Pink” session.

This is Kamilah and her family. If you have followed my blog for a few years then this is not your first time seeing Kamilah and her family. I photographed her wedding, her sister’s wedding, her maternity session and newborn pictures of baby Jaydah (who is not much of a baby any more). Well, now I have the honor of photographing Kamilah as she fights a battle against breast cancer. Kamilah was official diagnosed in July and since then has vowed to “live with not die from.” I know she will win this battle. So, we are going to do a series of portraits on different stages of this journey. Kamilah is also doing a daily blog to document her feelings and the events in her life on this road.
